Hip Mitte area – Torstrasse between Schönhauser Allee via Rosenthaler Platz to Friedrichstrasse – Living near the lively Mitte scene
Wonderful memories – over the past 10 years Torstrasse has developed into a trendy street. Restaurants, bars and clubs have moved away from the mainstream. In the side street, it is quietly living in the charming neighbourhood (german says „Kiez“). Opposites attract each other.
Berlin remains exciting at every corner. The picture changes from street to street. Whether living in a neighbourhood with family and quiet in the middle of it or going out for a trendy meal. There are young enterprising Berliners and tourists.
I met the coolest people here. Excited to meet them again. Always in development. Torstrasse serves as a thoroughfare for many. By car through and towards the west. It offers much more since the Wall came down. From Rosa Luxemburg Platz through Rosenthaler Platz to Friedrichstrasse, gastronomes have settled here. The rents were affordable and through good scene marketing, the guests also came.
Bars and PopUp Restaurants were the hit around 2010. i enjoyed the time very much. for example the legendary Bar „Butchers“. Torstrasse corner Rosenthalerstrasse. The entrance was not public. Through a curry station we went „to the back“ – there your red english phone booth was the entrance. First ring the bell and through the porthole the decision was made to enter. Once inside the old butcher’s shop, which had been rebuilt, we had the best drinks. The spirits were hung on meat hooks. Pictures were not allowed to be taken 🙂 OpeningGast: Thomas Gottschalk and Oliver Pocher. My friend David Wiedemann brought the people together.
Over the last 10 years Torstrasse has developed into a trendy street – Wohnen und Leben Immobilien
In 2019 a PopUp Bar was set up in the 90s style. The BERTA – was worth seeing.
I really like to report about my experiences in Torstrasse and the numerous impressions I have gathered in 20 years. Style and design discovered Torstrasse. Furniture, fashion, shoes and galleries placed their jewellery one after the other next to the hottest locations. In a personal conversation I can still report.
Living and staying here is a lot of fun. A lot can be experienced. The supply and infrastructure are well developed. In the neighbourhood (german says „Kiez“) and the side streets absolutely quiet and worth living. After resting and gathering strength within your own four walls, you can take to the pulsating Torstrasse.
